Horrible bosses are nothing new. Even in Shakespeare's time workers lamented about their plights as powerless underlings. We found this sonnet by an unknown author which tells the story...

The Serf's Lament

Oh cruel fate! What doth thou bring
A boss so vile, a monstrous king
In company halls, he doth preside
And terror doth in our hearts reside

His tongue with venom, it doth spew
A tyrant, with no soul anew
From morn till dusk, we toil and strain
While he doth sit, and our efforts disdain

He cares not for our toil and sweat
Our grievances, he doth forget
With arrogance, he doth command
While we, his pawns, at his mercy stand

He crushes our spirits with his might
And rules us with a cruel delight
With every breath, he doth impart
A fear that pierce our very heart

Oh, wretched soul, what shall we do
With this boss, so vile and shrew
We pray for strength, for to withstand
This monster, who doth rule our hand.
