After 9 years in Glendale and badly needing room to grow, we decided a move east to a new city at the start of a new decade was appropriate. And it didn't hurt that it means a shorter commute for most of us, which in this neck of the woods is a big deal! We're now located at 80 South Lake Ave., Suite 680 in Pasadena just a block away from the route of the Rose Parade with a great view of Mount Wilson and, I've been told, some amazing feng shui as well. Spend time. Business owners and managers need to spend time with their employees, answer their questions, and continually reinforce each employee's value to the company. "Money pays the bills but it doesn't engage the spirit, inspire enthusiasm or drive innovation." Implement recognition programs. Increasing the amount of recognition employees receive often increases engagement. Provide meaningful feedback. Communication is what employees crave. Based on our 2010 benchmark results, less than 4 in 10 employees are satisfied with the effectiveness of communication where they work. Ask for their input. If you need to really understand things from your employees' point of view then you need a tool that will give you the greatest level of insight into what they think and how they feel.
